Implications of Hysteresis on the Horizontal Soil Water Redistribution after Infiltration

چکیده

Although soil water redistribution is critical for a number of problems, rather limited study this process has been reported up to now and especially as regards the implications hysteresis on horizontal after infiltration. To end, thorough theoretical numerical investigation redistributed content profiles formed cessation infiltration presented. A different initial contents before initiation depths were analyzed using HYDRUS-1D software package considering appropriate hysteretic wetting drying curves. The effect neglecting was also investigated same conditions. main boundary curves studied porous medium hydraulic conductivity at saturation experimentally determined. analysis indicated that form in presence similar original profile independently whether taken or curve type. Specifically, relatively short time process, magnitude matrix head gradient tended zero due hysteresis, resulted an insignificant movement, although values still high. In addition, proceeded faster rate than smallest depth prior redistribution, it during early stages redistribution. Accordingly, important simulation is, example, case localized irrigation systems’ design management.

Effect of tree roots on water infiltration rate into the soil

ABSTRACT- To study the effect of tree roots on increasing water infiltration in soil and also to determine and assess the coefficients of different infiltration models, some infiltration tests were performed in three tree plantation areas in Badjgah, Fars province with different soil textures (clay loam for pear plantation, sandy loam for grape plantation, loamy sand for pine trees). In each pl...

Hysteresis: Phenomenon and Modeling in Soil- Water Relationship

Hysteresis has been widely recognized in the soil water relationship. In this paper, a detailed review of hysteresis was performed in relation to its models. So far, different models have been suggested to describe hysteresis in the water retention curve (WRC) that could be categorized into two main groups: conceptual and empirical models. The models in the first group are based on the domain t...
